Plea Has Been Filed to Faster Adoption of Electric Vehicles

To Safeguard the ‘Right to Breathe’ Plea Has Been Filed to Faster Adoption of Electric Vehicles; Sc Seeks Centre’s Reply

A plea has been filed in the SUPREME COURT seeking direction to the center for faster adoption of electric vehicles. This plea has been filed to safeguard the fundamental right to “breathe, health and clean environment. The government set the target of 6 to 7 million sales of such hybrid vehicles by 2020 but only 0.263 million electric vehicles have been adopted in India. A bench comprising chief justice Ranjan Gogoi and justice SANJIV KHANNA was initially not willing to consider the plea saying that it is related to government’s policy decision. The government is not successfully enacting the suitable regime for the adoption of “zero emission norms” According to plea, the policy will allow hybrid and electric vehicles will be the first choice of the consumer in comparison of petrol and diesel vehicles. The faster Adoption And Manufacturing of electric vehicles in India scheme is meant to execute the policy, but the policy has failed in “adopting the recommendations of NNEMP 2020”

Volkswagen Signed Up for the First Production Platform of E Vehicles

The Volkswagen brand’s strategy chief Micheal just said in a newspaper in January that group will introduce more advanced vehicles in comparison to its competitors over opening its modular EV platform to rivals.
